Our Cellar Door
We are THRILLED to announce that URLAR’s cellar door at 140 Dakins Road is now officially open! Join us every Friday to Sunday, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, for an afternoon with friends and family sharing our organic Wairarapa wines and seasonal country fare.
Hosted by Tess and Brian, they are excited to share the URLAR story and showcase our exceptional range of local wines made right here in Gladstone. Come along for a tasting or enjoy the carefully curated menu from our talented in-house cook, Marilyn. There may even be library wines available on certain days!
This project has been a huge effort from everyone involved, and the detail shows with unique pieces like our feature wall made from individual pieces of Farm Totara and a stunning deck overlooking the lake with panoramic views of the vineyard – the perfect spot to enjoy a drink in the summer sun, or on a warm winter’s day.

To find us simply follow the signage from SH2, down East Taratahi Road and you’ll find the signage. If you get stuck, simply give us a call on 027 324 9488 and we’ll do our best to guide you.

We want to make sure you have a great time when visiting URLAR. Our small menu of seasonal country fare can be adapted for most dietary requirements, however, we ask that you please call ahead on 027 324 9488 to advise the kitchen of any needs.

Our beautiful Cellar Door is situated down picturesque Dakins Road and looks over a small lake surrounded by beautiful vines and trees. Whether you want to book a function, corporate event, or your special occasion, this is a beautiful space to celebrate & enjoy our award-winning organic wines and delicious country fare.

Cellar Door
We have the facility to seat 16 in the foyer, 3 at the tasting counter and 28 outside on the patio under generous umbrellas by the lake. There is also plenty of standing room to enjoy tastings.
The Nishi Room
This stunning upstairs space can seat about 36 people comfortably. This includes a beautiful large shared beech table that seats 20 people. The views over the lake, the vines & the night sky through the ceiling skylights are just stunning.
